Sorcerer

Sound Design og Qlab Programming

Sorcerer is a performance about the pleasure of being with others - but also of being alone. Friendships prepare one to enjoy solitude or to calmly tear one's face apart.

With the work 'Sorcerer', by British artist Ed Atkins and American writer Steven Zultanski, Revolver continues its contemporary artistic line, which began in 2019 with the work 'Cadavre Exquis' by Jesper Just. And which continues in 2023 with a new work by the artist duo Kirsten Astrup & Maria Bordorff.

Here we hold on to the curatorial idea that the true development of the theatrical space often comes from unexpected sources: from those who are amateurs and thus very curious about the theatrical space, but in turn excel in another field. Here we aim for the top of Danish and international contemporary art, and are very honored by the artist's great willingness to collaborate and try something they have never tried before.

Ed Atkins has exhibited at the National Museum of Art - with 'Safe Conduct' from 2016, and has also had solo exhibitions at MoMA PS1 (New York), The Sepentine Gallery (London), Kiasma (Helsinki), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Tate Britain (London) and Kunsthalle Zürich.
